The Colour Index
The pigments used in our paint are indicated according to the Colour Index.
The Colour Index is a system applied internationally to pigments and colouring
agents used in all types of paint, thus including artists’ colours. The system is
based on a number and name relating to the chemical structure. The Colour
Index was originally developed in the USA, which is why the descriptions of the
chemical classes are given in English. The meaning of the abbreviations is as
follows:
PW = pigment white | PY = pigment yellow |
PO = pigment orange | PR = pigment red |
PB = pigment blue | PV = pigment violet |
PG = pigment green | PBR = pigment brown |
PBK = pigment black |
